Young L: Cutty Row/Based Sensation

Young L: Cutty Row/Based Sensation

From the artist who produced "Vans" comes a diverse "double album" featuring "based" lyrical rapping and futuristic singing.

Haling from the San Francisco Bay Area, Nigerian-American “Young L” (real name Lloyd Omadhebo), 21, is a rap artist and producer known for applying his talent and creativity to set trends and break barriers. Best known as the leader and producer of the rap group “The Pack,” Young L merged a punk skateboard mentatality with rap music roots to create the hypnotic and infectious ode to the skate shoe staple “Vans.” The song rolled through radio stations in the fall of 2006 and took off to #5 on Rolling Stone magazine’s best songs of 2006 list.

Discovered by rap legend Too $hort, The Pack was quickly signed to Jive Records and released two CDs, “Skateboards 2 Scrapers” in 2006 and “Based Boys” in 2007. The band has performed concerts steadily since the summer of 2006 in venues all across the United States, including a tour with Gym Class Heroes in 2007 and a tour with Bone, Thugs, and Harmony in 2008.
